North Augusta, South Carolina, September 22, 2026

We are proud to announce a major milestone in CordenPharma’s continued growth and investment in the United States. On September 22nd we celebrated the groundbreaking of our significant expansion project at CordenPharma South Carolina, marking the next milestone in our commitment to advancing peptide manufacturing capacity and strengthening domestic pharmaceutical supply chains.

The event brought together more than one hundred guests, including state, federal and local officials, CordenPharma executive leadership, community leaders, customers, partners and employees. Throughout the day, we reflected on the importance of continued investment in advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing in the U.S. and celebrated the opportunities this expansion will create for patients, the region and the industry as a whole.

The celebration began with a welcome breakfast, providing attendees with an opportunity to connect and preview the exciting future planned for our South Carolina site. Guests then heard remarks from South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Analysis Steven Haines, North Augusta Mayor Briton Williams, CordenPharma Chairman of the Board Paul Perreault, and CEO Dr. Michael Quirmbach, each highlighting the importance of expanding U.S.-based pharmaceutical manufacturing, driving innovation, strengthening supply chain resilience, and creating long-term economic opportunities in South Carolina.

We were especially proud to celebrate this milestone alongside our state and local partners, whose support has helped make this project possible. The groundbreaking ceremony served as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration between industry, government, and the local community.

This expansion represents an important step forward in growing our U.S.-based peptide manufacturing network. With an investment of more than $200 million, the project will add significant upstream peptide synthesis capacity in South Carolina, complementing our large-scale downstream peptide manufacturing operations in Colorado.

Together, our South Carolina and Colorado facilities are expected to represent more than $1.4 billion in U.S. peptide manufacturing investment. The expansion will support growing demand for peptide APIs used in therapies addressing obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other serious diseases, while creating more than 200 new high-quality jobs in South Carolina.

As demand for peptide therapeutics continues to grow, we remain committed to investing ahead of market needs and building the infrastructure required to help our customers bring innovative medicines to patients around the world.

Expansion Highlights

  • 68,000 sq. ft. of purpose-built commercial manufacturing space
  • Significant expansion of U.S.-based peptide synthesis capacity
  • Flexible SPPS, LPPS and hybrid peptide production platforms
  • Support from clinical development through commercial manufacturing
  • Shorter lead times and accelerated tech transfer
  • Dual-site flexibility and enhanced supply security

We are incredibly excited about this next phase of growth and the opportunities it creates for our customers, employees, and communities. This groundbreaking marks more than the start of a construction project. It represents our continued commitment to investing in the future of peptide manufacturing and helping deliver innovative medicines to patients around the world.
